From Service Dog To SURFice Dog!

An inspirational story of special dog and her special owner

Ricochet was born into the “Puppy Prodigies Neo-natal and Early Learning Program” with the intention of becoming a service dog for a person with a disability. She started her training at 13 days old before her eyes were even open!!! As part of the program she was exposed to many sights and sounds that she would encounter in the “Real World” as a service animal. She excelled at each task or environmental situation brought forth to her until…. “The Birds” Ricochet just loved to chase birds. It was a part of who she was and what she loved. Unfortunately because of the threat that would impose on a person requiring a service animal she could no long continue her training as a service dog. Judy Fridono Ricochet’s trainer and mommy says “I tried to Make her something she wasn’t but finally I had to release her from the program. I was very disappointed, but rather then focusing on what she couldn’t do I focused on what she COULD Do!” As part of the Puppy Prodigies program, Ricochet was exposed to many new and exciting things in her whelping box, and then the puppy play yard. She had lots of obstacles to maneuver over, under, around, on top of, etc including swings, wobble boards, skateboards, and many other un-even surfaces. As a result, she developed an amazing sense of balance. She became what she was meant to be!! To Learn more about Ricochet and all of her amazing work her and her mommy Judy do please watch the video below an Click the link below for more information on how you can help! http://www.surfdogricochet.com/. There is a side of this story that most do not know that I would love to expose people to. Judy Fridono Has been living with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and several other issues from the time of she was a teen. She said to me “Despite having these issues since I was a teen, I’ve tried to do as much as I can. As I get older, it’s getting harder. My energy level is so low. Finally with maturity, I’m also trying to look at what I can do, rather than what I can’t. Just like in the video. Ricochet is teaching me good life lessons!” This is what Fibrotv is about! People that have disabilities that focus on the positive, not there disabilities, but there ABILITIES! I knew right after talking to her on Facebook that she HAD to have a page on Fibrotv. She is a inspiration but not only that she inspires others! Judy said “For years I focused on the negative but as you can see in this video, I focused on the positive, and AMAZING things happened!

Okay…I should’ve taken your advice about getting the box of kleenex before watching this video! BAWLING my eyes out…but in a good way! :) This totally made my week. A wonderful reminder that we’re perfect as we are, and our ‘condition’ is ‘conditioning’ us for bigger & better things than we ever could’ve ever imagined! Gentle hugs…
